As we complete the third quarter of the year, we are amazed at the number of new babies who have been born so far. Currently, there has been 192! At the end of last year we had a total of 155 newborns. Certainly the Lord knew where to send these mothers for service and assistance.
The fear and heartbreak of an unplanned pregnancy impacts not only the
young woman, but everyone else around her. In the last two months we
have had an increase in the number of young girls under the age of 16.
The mothers of these young girls are bringing them in for pregnancy
tests, and are filled with grief upon confirmation of the pregnancy.
One mother called recently for help; she had taken her 14 year-old
daughter to the hospital for back pains and found she was in labor.
An unplanned pregnancy can be an uncertain and difficult time. Family,
friends or a partner may be giving advice or even pressuring.
The choices you face in making a decision about your pregnancy are
complex and carry with them a whole set of issues - issues relating to
family dynamics, self-esteem, your relationships, even your education
and your career.
Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion.
About half of American women have experienced an unintended
pregnancy, and at current rates more than one-third (35%) will have had
an abortion by age 45.
Twenty-four percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.
We need volunteers for our Tuesday morning Bible Hour, who are willing to help with children's activities. It is held from 11:30 am-12:00pm at the Accept Pregnancy Center,. 407 S. Dillard Street, Winter Garden, FL.
We also need volunteers for our Thursday evening children's class. It is from 6:00pm-7:00pm.
We are looking for churches to volunteer to prepare and serve dinner the last Thursday of the month for APC's clients and their children. Generally each congregation signs up for one or two months during the year. There are generally 35-40 mothers and children at each of these dinners.
Please let us know if you are interested in volunteering for any of these activities. You can call (407)654-0820.
